Before you have even stood up, the world has already begun telling you what is missing.
A better body. A sharper routine. A more successful career. A more authentic self. A more meaningful life.
In this episode of Noir Frequency, we open the file on Albert Camus, absurdity, consumer culture, total certainty, and the modern hunger for ready-made meaning.
Camus did not say life is meaningless, so nothing matters. He began with something more difficult: human beings hunger for meaning, but the universe does not provide a final answer. That collision is the absurd.
But Camus did not surrender to despair. He resisted it. He also resisted the false answers offered by ideology, political certainty, future paradise, and systems that justify cruelty in the name of meaning.
In a consumer age, the offer has changed. Meaning is sold as identity, lifestyle, status, self-improvement, rebellion, wellness, productivity, and endless reinvention. The question is no longer only “how should I live?” It becomes “how should I be read?”
This episode follows Camus from The Myth of Sisyphus to The Rebel, from absurdity to revolt, from totalitarian certainty to consumer identity, and from the ancient rock of Sisyphus to the modern cycle of work, spending, comparison, optimisation, collapse, and restart.
Camus does not save us from the absurd.
He saves us from bad answers.
